Buddy Teams Rodeo is a tactical shooting competition for two-person teams organized by RDA Agency. The competition tests teamwork, communication, safe weapon handling, physical readiness, and shooting skills under time pressure.

Individual stages simulate scenarios where two team members must work together, efficiently solve tasks, and achieve the best possible result as a team.

This competition is not only about accurate shooting. Success depends on coordination, tactical thinking, task distribution, and the ability to operate as one team.

What to Expect (Event Overview)

During the competition, participants can expect stages including:

  • 5 - 7 stages,
  • dynamic pistol and carbine shooting,
  • engagements at short and medium distances,
  • weapon transitions according to the scenario,
  • shooting from various positions and behind cover,
  • movement between shooting positions,
  • solving simulated tactical scenarios,
  • physical tasks before, during, or after shooting,
  • spatial awareness and completing tasks according to range officer instructions,
  • challenges requiring coordination and communication between team members.

Teamwork

Buddy Teams Rodeo is built around the principle that a team operates as one unit. Many stages will require both team members to cooperate effectively and properly divide responsibilities.

During individual stages, teams may be faced with tasks such as:

  • coordinated movement between positions,
  • mutual cover during movement,
  • coordinated target engagement,
  • division of firing sectors,
  • assisting a teammate during task completion,
  • joint decision-making to determine the most effective approach.

Some scenarios may require both team members to complete the task together. In other cases, success will depend on proper timing, communication, and coordination.

Physical Demands

The competition is not designed around extreme physical exertion; however, participants should expect that some stages may include:

  • short sprints,
  • carrying equipment or loads,
  • overcoming simple obstacles,
  • changing shooting positions,
  • working in confined spaces,
  • shooting after physical activity.

Physical elements are designed to simulate increased stress and test the ability to maintain shooting accuracy while operating with an elevated heart rate.

Unknown Scenarios

The exact details of each stage will not be known to participants in advance. Before the start of each stage, teams will receive a short briefing from the Range Officer explaining the objective, safety requirements, and conditions for completion.

Participants are expected to quickly analyze the situation, adapt their tactics, and effectively cooperate while solving the assigned task.

Scoring

Each stage is scored based on time. Penalties for missed targets, procedural errors, or failure to complete stage requirements are added to the achieved time. The final ranking is determined by the lowest combined score of total time and penalties across all completed stages.
